The City Hospital PVT LTD was established in the year 1971 and was the first multispecialty hospital with trauma care unit in Ernakulam City providing health care services to people of Cochin especially surgical care with modern operation theatres, experienced staff and trained surgeons.
This 48-year-old City hospital has many firsts to its credit which includes first trauma care unit of Cochin City, first private Blood bank in Kerala, first heart surgery in Cochin City, first center for arthroscopy and hip transplantation (Doctors from Germany & France used to perform surgeries here).

Current Scenario
Located in the heart of Ernakulam in one acre of land it still continues to provide quality services to its patients and is appreciated as an affordable health care provider. This multispecialty hospital has a specialized Center for Minimally Invasive Surgeries. The City CMIS.
The City Hospital was taken over by Mr.A.Basheeruddin, Chairman of Furnace Fabrica, a Mumbai based company engaged in supply and erection of various kinds of acid plants and ore processing internationally.
Our Vision is to become a health care provider provide high quality medical care with a humane touch and offering latest technologies.

City Hospital currently has all specialties in medicine and is managed under the able guidance of Dr.Sanam Basheer who herself is a leading Gynaecologist in Cochin. She is assisted by hospital management experts and the hospital is on its way to NABH accreditation.

City Hospital is celebrating its 48th anniversary and has further expansion plans to add Superspeciality departments like Gastroenterology and Nephrology.
The new IVF center christened aptly as PARENT IVF is the first step in the expansion of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department. The facility is housed in 15000 SQft area facing Jew Street, off MG road adjacent to CITY Hospital. World class facilities awaits patients at the new IVF center which is managed by ART and infertility specialists.
The CITY Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery (CMIS ) has installed the first 4K Laparoscopic camera from Olympus and will be having the first 4K Laparoscopic theatre in Kerala .
City Hospital will continue its legacy and cater the people of Ernakulam who will have access to quality treatment on an affordable platform. Ernakulam is the Industrial and IT capital of Kerala. The smart city project coming up in Kakkanad area and the Valarpadam container project are seen as propulsive force for the hospitals growth, as the need for affordable tertiary care will increase manifold.
