About PJ Rainpond India Pvt Ltd

We are an upcoming organization mainly engaged in setting up cost effective artificial water reservoirs using UV sterilized plastic sheets. The artificial pond can be used for:

Storing harvesting rainwater

Fish farming (edible & ornamental fishes)

The technology was innovated and developed by our Founder Chief Executive Mr. P. J. Varghese (Vakkachan,). This new idea has gained wide popularity among farmers, resorts and general public all over Kerala. We have already set up such ponds in various parts of India. Many persons have learned this idea from Mr. Vakkachan and adopted it as a solution for their water scarcity problems. We also provide training to unemployed youth in setting up such ponds so that they can use this as a means of self-employment

The work of setting up a pond mainly involves the following steps:
Making a big right shaped pit by digging the land.
Forming available crunch.
One layered HDPE sheet laying.
Carefully covering the big pit with UV sterilized sheets.
One layer 90% shade net laying.
The bottom of the pond is fill with clean sand for about 1.5cm thickness.
The borders of the pond thus made are covered with soil and mud and suitable type of grass is grown on that.
If the pond is for storing water for human consumption, it will be covered with a frame and plastic sheet to keep the water safe from sunlight.
If the pond is for fish farming, the bottom surface must be covered with good quality soil to assist the growth of micro-organisms. Also suitable quantity of cow-dung is mixed with the water in the pond to facilitate the growth of micro flora and fauna which becomes the necessary fish-food.
We undertake full contract of the construction work. The client just needs to show us the right spot.
Our services are extended all over India

The farming of both edible and ornamental fishes can be done in the pond.
Ornamental: - Gold Fish, Angel Fish etc.
Edible: - Gaurmi, Karp, Karimeen, Vala etc
The baby fishes in the pond by the beginning of the rainy season will mature by the summer season when the water is scarce. After catching the fish, water from the pond can be used for irrigation. Moreover the water in the pond will be rich in decaying organic matter, which increases the yield from the crops. The highlight of this pond is that water that is plenty in the rainy season can be stored for use in the summer. The income from the fish and availability of organic manure are added advantages.

If the pond is for fish farming, the bottom surface must be covered with good quality soil to assist the growth of micro-organisms. Also suitable quantity of cow-dung is mixed with the water in the pond to facilitate the growth of micro flora and fauna which becomes the necessary fish-food

A canopy (pandal) can be made over the pond to grow vegetables. Also a small barge (changadam) can be made to help in catching the fish and harvesting the vegetables. For the ponds in tourist resorts the above mentioned small barge (changadam) would become a matter of tourist attraction
