Assumption College, affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, is one of the biggest and the most reputed NAAC accredited women's colleges in the state. Included under section 2(f) and 12 B of the UGC Act, the college was accredited by the NAAC in the year 2000. It is a minority institution established under article 30(i) of the Indian Constitution, owned and managed by the Archdiocese of Changanacherry. The Archbishop of Changanaserry is the Patron of the college
